History of Lynchburg Pediatrics

Lynchburg Pediatrics was founded in 1972 by Dr. John A. Stephenson. Previously known as Richeson Drive Pediatrics, the practice has grown through the years from a one physician office into a four physician practice with three nurse practitioners.

The office was originally located on Langhorne Road across from E.C. Glass High School. It was moved into a cape cod house on Old Forest Road in the mid seventies. When more space was needed, an office building was built in the early 1980’s on Richeson Drive. Since then, the practice has expanded and added services, prompting our latest move and name change. The new location of Lynchburg Pediatrics is on Gristmill Drive in Forest, VA and was build in 2021.



Since opening, our practice has stressed individual care and a close doctor patient relationship. The providers continue to provide 24/7 on-call service themselves. Our office has always specialized in pediatric patients from birth until 22 years of age.
