Choosing a Pediatrician

Congratulations on your exciting news, and thank you for visiting the Lynchburg Pediatrics website! Having a baby is a miraculous and life changing event. We are here to help you! Our family of pediatric providers would be honored to welcome your family into our practice.



We’d love to meet you before your baby arrives to answer any questions you may have about our practice, the care your little one will receive here, as well as general questions about what to expect when your baby is born. Please call us to set up an interview. If you don’t have a specific pediatrician in mind, let us help pair you up to ensure the best fit. Remember, it’s our pleasure to care for you and your family!

Delivery Day

If you deliver at Virginia Baptist Hospital, the staff will ask who you’ve chosen as your pediatrician. We work closely with the hospitalists who will be on site at the hospital and will take care of your baby each day until you are both ready to go home. At the time of discharge, they will let you know when to schedule your first appointment with us, typically 1-3 days after you leave the hospital. 

We are open 7 days a week so finding a convenient appointment will be easy.

Insurance

For newborns, you have thirty days to enroll your child under your health insurance policy. Please make sure your carrier knows the name of your chosen pediatrician at Lynchburg Pediatrics. If you have medicaid, please make sure they add the baby to the medicaid option that we are contracted with, currently Sentara Community Plan. Please be aware that we are not accepting new families with medicaid at this time.
