Melody Ailsworth, D.O., was born in Texas and grew up in Louisiana. She graduated from the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Florida and received her medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine where she was a member of Sigma Sigma Phi, an honorary medical society. Dr. Ailsworth completed her pediatric residency at the Children's Hospital of the King's Daughters in Norfolk Virginia. She worked in Richmond and Buena Vista, Virginia before joining the Lynchburg Pediatrics in 2004. She enjoys gardening, fishing, and traveling. Volunteering as camp doctor when her 3 boys went to Falling Creek boys camp in NC was a favorite job in the past.  Dr. Ailsworth enjoys seeing children of all ages, she is interested in supporting families with each stage of development, improving academic success, autism, and behavioral and mental health concerns.
